This weekend saw a number of 234 (City of Durham) Squadron cadets take part in a development weekend aimed at giving them some basic skills to eventually become a Junior NCO. The candidates learned about foot drill and what it means to be a cadet NCO, as well as taking part in group discussions and presentation tasks. They also had the opportunity to showcase their practical leadership abilities by building bridges and solving puzzles amongst many other things.
The weekend culminated in short interviews and assessments in order to help cadets develop their skills further. Hopefully this has given them the knowledge required to get onto the first rung of the NCO ladder, with promotions to follow in the future…watch this space!
Congratulations to all the cadets who attended the course and many thanks to the staff for helping to deliver it.
